CRICKET COLOUR. It was a show full of colour and energy as Bridgetown played host to the second parade in the space of a few days. This time around it was the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of Cricket World Cup 2007 which was giving the entertainment. Chief corporate communications officer Francine Charles said the festivities were to mark the new CWC 2007 official song, written by Barbadian Rupert Rupee Clarke and performed by Clarke, Faye-Ann Lyons and Shaggy. The parade/motorcade consisted mainly of a number of primary and secondary schoolchildren taken from their schoolsÕ cheerleading teams, as well as LOC staffers and volunteers. The parade was led by CWC 2007 mascot, Mello. It started off at Jubilee Gardens, up Broad Street, the Wharf and Harbour roads and on to the Barbados Tourism Authority in Reef Road. (CA)
