THE 2007 ATHLETICS SEASON gets under way at 10 a.m. today with the odd distance and relays meet at the National Stadium. The season opener is an open offering the long jump, shot putt, discus, as well as the 60, 150, 300 and 600 metres, as well as the 4x100, 4x200, 4x400 and 4x800 metres relays. Local athletes who begin the season today will also get the chance to compete against their counterparts from Wartburg College, Iowa, who are here on a training stint. Registration will commence at 9:15 a.m. and all track events will be timed finals. (SAC)
