SING-SATIONAL. Grammy-award winner Rihanna came home to a hero’s welcome yesterday. The singing sensation was met by Prime Minister David Thompson, Government ministers and relatives when she stepped off a British Airways flight around 3:50 p.m. There were hundreds of umbrellas in the arrival area, a tribute to her chart-topping song “Umbrella”, as Barbadians converged en masse to celebrate the multiple award winner. After the official welcome, Rihanna was the guest of honour at a cultural presentation featuring performances from Dancin’ Africa, Charles F. Broome Primary and Combermere School.
